Things I loved:

  • The high-end vibe and luxury website experience.

  • The intimate photos focusing on the body’s beauty.

  • The use of minimal headline font.

02 // Lexfish

Stepping into ‘Lexfish’ website feels cool and fresh. An interesting mix of calm color palette and playful details. See those little hand-drawn illustrations sprinkled around? It feels like they add just the right amount of fun.

Things I loved:

  • The set of custom hand-drawn illustrations that add a touch of playfulness.

  • The uplifting and encouraging tone of voice.

‘Janina Roeseler’ website has a light and airy yet bold and playful vibe. If I had to pick one word describing the design, it would be joyful. Partly because of the unexpected orange & soft purple duet, partly because of Janina smiling and laughing back from the photos.

Things I loved:

  • The freebie being offered very early in the user journey - it’s the first thing after the hero section.

  • The custom minimal icons that play around with semicircles and geometry.

  • The unexpected combination of purple and orange - definitely adds a flair of youthfulness.

‘The Pilates Class’ website has a clean and simple style but with a fresh twist. Lots of free space, white and light backgrounds are there only to allow the neon-like lime color accents shine and really grab attention.

Things I loved:

  • The use of video in the hero section on the homepage.

  • The inclusive attitude and community spirit. There’s a whole page dedicated to sharing the transformation journeys of real people.

  • The clean and simple style.

Diving in ‘Pilates with Harriet’ website is like taking a breath of fresh air. The soft shades of light blue and beige backgrounds are very calming and easy on the eyes. Light and airy, soothing and feminine.

Things I loved:

  • The modern take on the logo. Those ligatures and curvy lines remind me of pilates - flowy and gentle.

  • The elegant ellipse ‘Start Your Trial’ button that keeps showing up while scrolling through the pages.

  • The soft and feminine vibe.

I admit, when I first saw ‘Pilates Republic’ site, I felt the heat. Photos of strong ladies doing kick ass workouts and wearing bright colored outfits. Even the headline that welcomes visitors in the hero section says “Hardcore Pilates”.

Things I loved:

  • The bold font for the headlines. Matches the empowering vibe of the brand.

  • The messaging and smart use of the “H.E.A.R.T formula”, as they’ve put it. A clever abbreviation that stands for “Heat. Empower. Align. Renew.” Tone. Nicely done.

  • The chat box in the bottom right corner. Very convenient to send a message right away.

07 // House of Sculpt

In case you’re wondering if a brand can appeal both fun and elevated, this is your answer. Check out ‘House of Sculpt’ site - welcoming, uplifting and promising creative classes. A fresh mix of vibrant colors + artistic photos showing there’s beauty in movement.

Things I loved:

  • The fun and bold color palette.

  • The creative copy and down-to-earth language. I think they got me at the befits section “

  • The empowering message and the idea that movement is the ultimate indulgence. I guess this is what you can expect from two ex ballerinas turned pilates instructors and wellness advocates.

08 // Trevor Blount Pilates

Browsing through ‘Trevor Blount Pilates’ site is an experience by itself. As you scroll down you'll see plenty of animated and interactive elements which makes the site very dynamic and interesting.

Things I loved:

  • The animations and ‘moving’ style of the site.

  • The neutral color palette.

  • The creative use of the red dot. We see it in the logo but also in a few other places, used as a playful accent.

09 // Shape Pilates

Founded by a woman, ‘Shape Pilates’ site is feminine, calm yet invigorating. We can see an excellent use of white space that makes the website feel open and uncluttered, along with an interesting color palette (love the purple!) that’s uplifting and gentle at the same time.

Things I loved:

  • The photos of Gemma, the founder, that you can see across the website. It’s always nice to see the face of the human behind the brand and hear their story.

  • The little geometric icons sprinkled around. Nice way to represent balance and flow.

  • The wide sans-serif font used for the headlines. Feels very open and contemporary.

10 // Studio Ash Pilates

If you’re a fan of neutral color palettes, you’re going to love ‘Studio Ash Pilates’ site. We can see soft shades not only for the sections backgrounds but also in the photos of Ash. Her pilates videos are shot in spaces with clean neutral aesthetics, and even her outfits somehow fit the website color palette.

Things I loved:

  • The specific message targeted at busy moms. This was a nice surprise since most business owners seem to “talk to everybody”. I always love good case studies of businesses niching down.

  • The headline font. I had already seen ‘The Seasons’ in a few other projects so I instantly recognized it when I saw it. Very modern, feminine and graceful.

  • The beautiful photos.

11 // VB Method

Taking a U turn with styling and getting a totally different vibe on ‘VB Method’ site. Lots of black in the design, both section backgrounds and photos, super heavy font for the headlines, and neon color buttons. I guess it makes sense to go for a bold dramatic aesthetics when key words are strength and athleticism.

Things I loved:

  • The hero section with the video in the background and the alternating bold headlines.

  • The section with the workouts. I found it convenient to see what’s in the menu in one place.

  • The neon yellow we see in the buttons and in one of the outfits Vilmaliz, the founder, is wearing on the photos. Bold!

12 // Prescription Dynamic Pilates

‘Prescription Dynamic Pilates’ site is another example of a website with unexpected color palette. This time the neon colored buttons pop out in front of soft brown and grey backgrounds. It’s earthy-meets-bold kind of aesthetics. Dynamic, uplifting and powerful.

Things I loved:

  • The way they mention their partnership with a big brand like Oysho and tying it to community spirit.

  • The gallery with all the team members’ photos.

  • The promotion bar just beneath the navigation. The motion + neon color instantly pulls attention.

‘Gemini PIlates’ have gone for fresh natural style with their site. Lush green shades for the backgrounds, photos of plants and even a few video shots taken outdoors. Scrolling through the pages feels like a walk in the forest.

Things I loved:

  • The natural theme/style of the website.

  • The professional video footage that appears as the very first thing when landing on the Homepage.

  • The name of their platform, ‘Movement Oasis’ and the way it ties with the visual identity.

‘Let’s start Pilates with Hande Demirel’ site has a clean and elegant style, with a classy headline font and a minimal color palette that consists of pure white, soft isabelline and eerie black.

Things I loved:

  • The honest tone in the copy: “Improve your health, and make you feel good physically and mentally – without quick fixes, fad diets, or excessive exercise.”

  • The minimal color palette.

  • The light and airy feel of the layouts.

Things I loved:

  • The photography direction.

  • The raisin black header. I think it adds just the right amount of dramatic contrast.

  • The way Becky, the founder, reveals her personal story and how she got into pilates.

Friendly, joyful and feel-good vibe. That’s what you get when you land on ‘Rebalance’ site. I had a feeling that the purple green combo is a trend that’s here to stay in website color palettes but this is the first case study when I see it alongside ‘blobby’ shapes. So fun!

Things I loved:

  • The inclusive message. As Rebalance say on the home page, this is “The movement studio for every body”.

  • The rounded headline font. Super friendly and matches the brand personality.

  • The fun hover effects on the services section on the homepage. each time you slide your mouse over an image a different shape mask appears.

‘Scout’ have definitely nailed it with their branding. Such a playful site style based on bold modern font choice, and fun and friendly color palette.

Things I loved:

  • The gorgeous logo design. I admit, I have a thing for custom typography so naturally this one got under my skin. I just love the fluid curves as opposed to the straight lines.

  • On the team page, there’s a photo and short bio of every team member. Real people, authentic vibe.

  • The real photos from the retreats (instead of the stock images we’re used to see on other sites)

The style of ‘Neo’ site suits well the brand name. Traditional and contemporary at the same time, suggesting they’re all about “an innovative approach to the practice of classical pilates for the modern person”.

Things I loved:

  • The state of art photography revealing the beauty of the human body.

  • The simplicity and free space.

  • The blog. Not the typical read. It rather feels like an editorial magazine.

Definitely check out ‘Pilates by Bryony’ site if you’re looking for clean and simple classy style. Even the palette is minimal and stripped down from color - all the backgrounds are in black, white or khaki.

Things I loved:

  • The clean, almost minimal aesthetics.

  • The ‘raw’ and imperfect community video shots.

  • The app mockups.

‘Kink Pilates’ site is fun, vibrant and invigorating. Incorporating melon and coral pink in the brand palette is a bold move for sure but totally matches the cheerful spirit of the studio.

Things I loved:

  • The color palette. Those pinks and corals are energizing!

  • The photos from the studio and the girls being dressed in outfits that match the website palette.

  • The logo, super fun! Especially loved the star above the ‘i’. You can see it also on the stories covers on insta.
