Start Creating Content That Builds Followers

The average social media user spends upwards of two hours per day online, 🀯 making social media marketing one of the most powerful tools out there.

For health and wellness branding, it is the most impactful way to tell your authentic customers’ stories, to present your work and to bring constant stream of new customers.

More important, your content and your followers are equity πŸ’° your brand is accumulating over time that pays off a "divident" on the long run.

The Basics

Think of every time we are just a little bit bored, what do we do?

We spend a minute, or two, (or sometimes half an hour, let's be honest) swiping trough Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube or LinkedIn.

And we hope to find entertainment, interesting facts, news, or the occasional gossip πŸ€«β€¦

Content is king here, as we need to provide constant feed that would engage our existing and new followers.

Here are 6 content ideas

βœ… Create carousels with Tips & How-to's
βœ… Share Stories or Reels with daily motivation
βœ… Create video tutorials
βœ… Add event teasers
βœ… Give followers a sneak peek of your craft
βœ… Tell your customer's stories

6 Content Ideas to Boost Up Your Social Feed

With the increasing amount of content being shared online, it can be extremely challenging to stand out from the crowd and capture your audience's attention.

But if you find a way to be reMarkable, to give people something they want to talk about, your content will be discussed, interacted with and shared πŸ’¬

1 // Create carousels with Tips & How-to's

Here’s an interesting idea for an Instagram carousel post from Supergoop, an SPF sunscreen seller.

They are gently reminding followers about the importance of sun protection with an up-to-date UV index from several US cities.

It's important for the building of our brand image to be consistent with our presence. You are wondering what does that mean? Let me give you few examples for inconsistent branding:

❌ Using different color schemes or fonts on different marketing materials, such as your website, social media profiles, and business cards.

❌ Changing the logo or visual identity of your brand frequently.

❌ Using different tones of voice or messaging - being formal and concise on your website and informal and playful on your social media posts.

πŸ’‘ Bonus Tip: Canva is a great tool with rich templates for creating social media posts.

2 // Share Stories or Reels with daily motivation

Or you could elevate your social "game" with inspiring story ideas that are sure to motivate and uplift your followers.

Here's a great post that remind us to show up, even if we have slacked a little bit (who haven't?) πŸ’ͺ

3 // Create video tutorials

Another great idea is creating video tutorials for your followers.

Kirsten Kaminski provides great short tutorials with healthy meal prep ideas at her Instagram account @thetastyk.

4 // Event teasers

For most events related to health & wellness brands, one of the best places to reach target audience are Instagram and Facebook.

Facebook allows creation of Events, which, when interacted with (e.g. someone marks as Going or Interested) are a great starting point for better reach.

Here are some ideas of ways to promote your event

  • Share your event to your Business page

  • Create posts on your page advertising your event

  • Share the event through your personal profile

  • Invite people to attend your event

  • Run a Giveaway 🎁 for the first 20 attendees to boost engagement

πŸ’‘ Bonus Tip: Scarcity! You could leverage one the strongest psychological tricks marketers use - Scarcity, and limit the amount of attendees for the event upfront, then post when the seats begin to sell out or are sold out.

Most of us like to procrastinate and leave decisions for later. Limiting the seats will inspire people to act quicker next time and book earlier. That's exactly what A Doorway To Hope has done with their gala.

Don't forget to promote during your event

βœ… Build-up interest with updates to your Story feed

βœ… Share behind-the-scenes exclusives

βœ… Plus, take photos of attendees throughout the event - if they see themselves, people would be PROUD of their attendance and reshare

βœ… Engage with attendees’ posts

5 // Show followers a sneak peek of your craft

Can you think of a better way to motivate action and showcase your work and expertise than by providing content where you are in your "mojo".

Here is a great example from @blackgirlinom, plus they are motivating action, asking followers to tag a friend, who could benefit from their work.

And here we have @adellbridges gently raising awareness for where we might be β€œcheating” in order to feel we are achieving the shape.

6 // Tell your customer's stories

One of the most genuine ways to connect with our audience is to tell our customer's stories, their path, frustrations, how we have helped them a (hopefully) impacted their lives.

People love stories, especially good ones. But how to craft a good brand story? Donald Miller, the author of Building a StoryBrand explains well:

We need to tell a story where the customer is the HERO 🦸. The key is to shift the perspective towards THEIR PROBLEM and how we have helped them:

  • the challenges they have faced

  • how they have taken things in their hands

  • how we gave the solution and supported solving their problem

The idea is to showcase the usage of our services and how they have helped real customers.

Whether you decide to follow these ideas, or go your own way, being authentic is the most important aspect of connecting with your audience.
